Between section champion golfers, track stars and victorious baseball/softball programs from the first days of postseason bracket action, it proved impossible to select any individual as the lone Oakdale Leader Athlete of the Week. So we compromised, in the end selecting track standout Carly Rodgers, golfer Ryan Jones, baseball pitcher Logan Handzlik and softball pitcher Shelby Reali as a collective group of Spring sport standouts.

Rogers set a school record in the pole vault at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV-V Championships to qualify for Masters. Jones shot a stunning 70 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton to qualify for NorCals. Reali threw two gems during a pair of 10-0 wins over Central Catholic and Ceres over the span of just one night. Handzlik led Oakdale into the SJS semifinals by throwing a three-hitter with no earned runs allowed as Oakdale beat River City 5-1.

All four earn Athlete of the Week recognition for their efforts.
