Oakdale High’s sophomore talent, Kyle Peterson, hasn’t waited long to continue the tradition of excellent Mustang track and field throwers like Tim House and Marco Camacho. Paterson heaved a 159 foot, 10 inch distance to win the Sacramento Meet of Champions and added a 160-2 toss to win a meet against Sonora just a few days later.

Peterson is the No. 2 sophomore in the state according to athletic.net and among the top-40 throwers of any age division in the state. His tremendous season has been a terrific representation of OHS athletes.

He earns Athlete of the Week recognition from The Leader for his efforts.
