Dear Editor,

The Oakdale City garden plot just north of North Yosemite and A Street, has been thoroughly remade. Over a hundred men and young men spent the whole day on Saturday, May 8 to transform it. The bounty of weeds was replaced with fruit and nut trees, nicely irrigated. Thanks goes to the many dusty hard working men from the Modesto North Stake of the LDS (Mormon) Church as part of a huge regional effort where thousands volunteered for a day to better California.
