Dear Editor,
Mickey Peabody doesn’t have to get her apron dirty because her work is all done. She has worn the same apron for 16 years without laundering it. She (with co-organizer Vickie Thompson) has planned, organized, and equipped the group for action. The group is the Spirit of Oakdale (Community Thanksgiving Dinner crew) and this is the 16th year they have poured out their hearts back into the community they love.
Our Oakdale community has the best people. What a great time was had by those who served and those who enjoyed the great feast. What joy to watch children hug a donated stuffed toy, and parents smile because their children are having a good time getting their little faces painted and making decorations for the hospital. Everybody was getting to know one another, and chatting with friends they already knew.
I almost forgot to mention the great food. Thank you to the hard working wonderful Spirit of Oakdale crew.
