Shelter Fundraiser Success

Dear Editor,

Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance wishes to thank all the generous people who helped make Barktoberfest, our fourth annual fundraiser for homeless pets of Oakdale and Riverbank, a huge success. The support from our community is astounding.

This support helps us continue and expand our spay neuter program that began August 2011. More pets will get fixed and fewer unplanned, unwanted puppies and kittens will end up homeless at the Oakdale Shelter. The generosity of our sponsors means we can fund more projects to increase kennel space and reduce overcrowding. Donations to our all-volunteer organization also help us help more special needs pets. A trip to the groomer for a trim and a bath, or treatment by the vet for more serious medical attention, gives a needy cat or dog a second chance for a new forever home.

Donations of any size are welcome. Contributions may be made to “O S P A” by mail at P.O. Box 1965, Oakdale, CA 95361, or online at www.oakdaleshelterpetalliance.org. Want to put your discarded recycled cans and bottles to a good cause? Oakdale Recycle Center, 1477 S. Yosemite Ave. accepts recycles donated in the name of the Oakdale Animal Shelter.

Thank you to all our generous supporters who have made a difference in saving and improving lives of homeless pets of Oakdale and Riverbank.

Betsie Corwin,

President
