Volunteers Came Through Again

Dear Editor,

Great things happen when a community comes together! On April 21, 247 of us “Loved Oakdale” volunteering in 27 projects across the city. Every single project was able to be completed. This would not have been possible without the help of the sponsors, donors, service clubs, businesses, residents and especially the churches.

Thank you to the City and River Church for co-sponsoring this event. Thank you to our donors: Calvary Chapel, Steves Chevrolet, Haidlen Ford, Soroptimist, Cost Less Market, Primary Residential Mortgage, Teresa Kinney, Oakdale Police Officers, Kmart, Home Depot, Starbucks East F & Creative Christian Learning Center. Thank you to our project leaders: Life Community Church, Get Fit, Sunrise Rotary, Redeemer Church, Community Christian Reformed Church, The River Church, Calvary Chapel, Center for Human Services, Girl Scouts Troop 3101 and Oakdale Police Officers. Thank you to our committee who gave many hours of their personal time to help make this event a success.

We were able to help our seniors and veterans, cleaned up neighborhoods, parks and cemeteries, freshened up Oakdale Museum, planted vegetables at the community garden and many other projects. We successfully fulfilled our mission to demonstrate kindness, meet needs and impact lives.
