Dirkse Has My Support

Dear Editor,

Jeff Dirkse is far and away the most qualified candidate for sheriff of Stanislaus County.

He is of executive level in experience and education, has commanded soldiers in battle and is a proven leader.

I have met him and he is capable of managing a complex sheriff’s department that oversees the jail, coroner’s office, several municipal police agencies, and the sheriff’s office. He will hire qualified people for us, the citizens of the county.

He has the skills to articulate issues between state, county and local governments effectively. He is firm on the second amendment and positive on the CCW issue.

I firmly support Jeff Dirkse.

Jim Vermeulen

Many Thanks For Assistance

Dear Editor,

Thank you for the platform to send our thanks to the Love Oakdale project: Gina McCarty and the Love Oakdale committee; the City of Oakdale; and especially to the very nice group of 25 to 30 people from Redeemer Church in Modesto who volunteered their hours of labor and materials to assist the Oakdale Citizens Cemetery with extra clean-up projects. This loving outreach truly gave the cemetery a boost.

Oakdale Citizens Cemetery is a small, non-profit entity. It is probably one of the oldest, organized groups in the community and has served many families over the years. We operate on a very small budget and a limited grounds staff. Throughout the year others have volunteered labor or materials to the cemetery grounds – these efforts are noted and appreciated, and we are always happy to accept memorial donations for special projects.

Again, we thank volunteers from Redeemer Church for helping Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. Appreciation to the Love Oakdale groups for your spirit of volunteerism and commitment to the community of Oakdale. A great place to live.

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors
