On April 29 and 30, a unique fundraiser is coming to town. It’s called “SHOP for CHARITY” and will offer over 5,000 new, designer label garments for 50-80 percent off retail prices. There are six groups working together on this event. They include: Community Hospice, Haven Women’s Shelter, Family Support Network, Oakdale Educational Foundation, Oakdale Women’s Club and Shelter Pet Alliance, for Oakdale/Riverbank animal shelter.
The Friday night event is a “Preview & Purchase” offering attendees a first opportunity to buy these items from Calvin Klein, DKNY, Michael Kors, Tahari, and more. The $25 ticket purchase will include samplings of a variety of wines, gourmet coffees, cheeses, and dessert. The tickets are available from members of the six groups, or locally at the Family Support Network, 1405 West F St., Suite A or The Empty Nest at 116 N. Third Ave., Oakdale. The event is also open to the public at no entry charge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. Proceeds from the clothing sales will be divided among the groups participating. This enormous, exciting and unique shopping opportunity will be held at 1484 East F (formerly Blockbuster). The clothing comes from a store in San Francisco called “A Miner Miracle” founded by Kathy Miner, who has been featured on multiple news and media pieces and honored by Oprah’s Angel Network. This is the first time she has held a fundraiser outside of SF, and she’s coming to Oakdale! Please join us in supporting these local groups and give yourself a great ‘no-guilt’ shopping day by getting amazing clothes at deep discounts. There will be sizes for everyone – small to extra large and plus sizes, clothes for women and men along with some shoes and accessories. Don’t miss out! This is the first ‘Shop for Charity’ event that we hope turns into an annual extravaganza.
