Warren Joseph McAndrews, 91, died Thursday, Jan 31.

He was born to Ruth Lucille Williams McAndrews and Michael Joseph McAndrews in Venice, Calif. He attended school in Venice, graduating from Venice High School.

Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served for eight years in the Pacific Theater. Upon his honorable discharge, he became a Los Angeles City fireman and was at the rank of Captain after 25 years of service. Shortly after being hired by the City of Los Angeles, he met the love of his life, Grace Walton and they were married and sealed in the Saint George, Utah LDS Temple.

Mr. McAndrews and his wife lived in Oakdale for 31 years, since 1982.

He held a California Real Estate License, owned and piloted his own plane, and loved camping in the High Sierras. He served a total of seven missions for the LDS Church, four of which were with his wife, and two of which were in the Philippines and Taiwan respectively.

He loved his family, served his country and God, and will forever be loved and cherished.

He is survived by his wife Grace of Oakdale; children, Beverly (Randy) Ring, Gary (Terry) McAndrews of Oakdale, and Jeanette (Stephen) Gardner of Oakdale; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
