Virginia Edith Cova, 80, died Sunday, April 27.

She was born in Escalon to Louis and Giovanna Betti on July 28, 1933 and had eight brothers and sisters.

In 1953 she married Carlo Cova and they lived in Escalon and had five children. They owned Carl’s Market for over 30 years. Virginia moved to Oakdale two years after Carlo died.

She is survived by her children, Patti Cova, Chuck Cova, Carol McColgan, Renee Jackson, Tom Cova; her siblings, Irma Bailey, Evelyn Swass, Attillio Betti, Guido Betti, Leo Betti, Bob Betti; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvia Piccolli and Charles Betti.
