Ruby Florence Botto completed her life journey on Saturday, October 29, 2016. She was born to Leo and Caroline Dellamaria in Stockton, CA on July 24, 1923. Ruby was raised in Stockton, CA graduating from the Stockton HS. She married Clifford Botto in 1950, moved to Sonora, CA and then to Oakdale where they started their family and life-long business.
Ruby was a wife, mother, homemaker and business woman for many decades. She was a partner and owner of the Oakdale, Riverbank, Angels Camp, and San Andreas Memorial Chapels for over 60 years and up to her death continued to provide direction for their operations. Ruby was a Life Member of Soroptimist International of Oakdale, YLI – a Catholic Women’s Organization, and Charter Member of the Oakdale Golf & Country Club.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 66 years Clifford Botto; daughter, Dorinda Botto, sons, Leo (June) Botto, and Michael (Donna) Botto all of Oakdale; grandchildren, Mark Lynch of Chico, Erin Botto of Oakland, Christopher Botto of Sacramento, Erica McGhee, Kara McGaffee (Joel), Kalindi Botto, all of Oakdale and Colton Botto of Reno, NV and five great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Caroline Dellamaria. Ruby enjoyed the many wonderful friends and relationships she and Cliff developed over the years in Oakdale. They enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. The welcome lamp was always lit.
Ruby’s visitation will be held on Friday, November 4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Oakdale Memorial Chapel at 830 West “F” Street Oakdale. A funeral service at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 89 North Oak Avenue on Saturday, November 5 at 10 a.m. A private interment will follow at the Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.
