Robert Franklin ‘Bob’ Miguel, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 24 at his Oakdale home, after less than a year of battling cancer.

He was born in Oakland to Charles W. and Dorothy Miguel, the youngest of three children, where he attended school through high school.

Mr. Miguel served his country with honor for two years in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

He loved to drive truck, his life’s occupation over the course of 57 years, with some time out as a dispatcher and plant manager.

He loved cars, enjoyed attending classic car shows, and watching Nascar races. He was a warm, friendly, happy, spontaneous, loving man.

He was a family man who loved his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and always was happiest in time spent with family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo Miguel; children, Rob (Karen) Miguel of Yorba Linda, Don (Sonja) Miguel of Nevada, Lisa (Randy) Hurlburt of Oakdale, and David (Diane) Miguel of Nevada; grandchildren, Lindsay (Bryan) Bingham of Yorba Linda, Kristy (Jeff) Llewellyn of Anaheim Hills, Jamie (Francis) DeRollo of Riverbank, Shawna (J.P.) Pitassi of Oakdale, Heather (Zach) Zogorski of Oakley, Rusty Langley of Oakdale, Kelsey (Joe) Unger of Nevada, and Masey Miguel of Murietta; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Chuck Miguel and Dorothy Jensen.

Services were held Feb. 27 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel.
