Marianne E. Lemmons, 59, died Wednesday, Dec. 12.

She was born in Oakdale and was a lifelong resident of the Oakdale-Modesto area.

Ms. Lemmons was an accomplished musician, playing flute, piano and organ with her church orchestra.

She began her professional career as an accountant for the Grange Company and later with Foster Farms. She was proud that she earned a bachelor’s degree in computer programming and was able to have a second career as a programmer.

She was always smiling and happy and brought joy to those around her. She will be missed by everyone she knew.

She is survived by her brother, James (Constance) Lemmons of Oakdale; sister, Mary Ellen Lemmons of Redwood City; uncle, John Lemmons of Sacramento; two nieces and one nephew, all of Modesto; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.A. Lemmons; and mother, Gladys L. Lemmons.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
