Margery ‘Joanie’ Campbell (Newbill), 79, died peacefully at home on Friday, May 22.
She was born in Williamsport, PA on Sept. 9, 1929.
She graduated from the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in 1950 with a degree in Nursing. She was Director of the Operating Room at Oak Valley District Hospital for many years preceding her retirement in Oakdale.
She was married to Bob Newbill for 33 years, 1953 to 1986. She and her family moved to Oakdale in 1965. After retirement she and her second husband Morris Campbell moved to the Redding/Red Bluff area.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Pastor Mark Franklin and all of the Campbell’s church family for the many gifts, flowers and meals.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Morris Campbell; sons, Lee (Denise) Newbill of Kansas and Steve (Darlene) Newbill of Oakdale; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Kevin Campbell and Lowell Campbell; and four step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell and Irene Carson; and three siblings, Ardell, Stu and Ann.
Services were held on Friday, May 30 at Community Baptist Church, Red Bluff.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Hospice or Community Baptist Church, both of Red Bluff.
