Larry Richardson, 66, died Tuesday, Dec. 11 after a short battle with cancer.

He was devoted to his family and friends, always willing to lend a hand. In his youth, he served in the Vietnam War and earned a business degree from Stanislaus State.

Mr. Richardson was a long time resident of the Oakdale community as a business owner and active member of the Oakdale Golf and Country Club. His love of cars and all things motor-related led him and his wife, Karin, to open and run Richardson Dodge, their car dealership for 30 years.

He was an avid golfer and snowmobiler. He also loved fishing and boating, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time teaching his grandchildren to adopt his hobbies. Known affectionately by his friends as UNK, he was the life of the party. He spent countless hours at the club golfing and many days in Bear Valley snowmobiling with his buddies.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karin Richardson; children, Paul Richardson, Stephen LeCouve, and Stefanie Cornell; sister, Lynn Sesma; four grandchildren; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mel Sargent and Rich Richardson.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
