Jack Stallings, 66, died Sunday, Sept. 1.

He was a resident of Oakdale for 34 years.

Mr. Stallings was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in Vietnam for nearly a year.

He loved his family, his country, his music, and target shooting. He spent hours in his workshop making his guitars, mandolins, and other types of furniture.

He had an amazing group of musician friends, dubbed “The Jammers,” who he would jam with on Wednesday and Friday nights.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Kathy Stallings; sons, Cliff and Neil Stallings; brother, Wayne Stallings; and grandchildren, Todd, Zach, Kayley, Hannah, Emily, and Lucas Stallings.

A celebration of life service was held Sept. 15.
