Genevieve Pantel was born in Davenport, Nebraska and moved to Oakdale, California when she was nine years old. She married her high school sweetheart, Herman Pantel, in 1945. She served her community working in Oakdale school cafeterias where she later became manager. With her faith in Jesus as the foundation of her life, she was engaged in many church activities. Most recently, she was a member of Shelter Cove Community Church where she participated in the Seniors group and prayer chain.
Genevieve was an incredible source of love and grace who continuously put the needs of others before her own. She holds a very cherished place in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her daughters Linda Bernard, Diana Bruce, Barbara Adams and husband Terry, and Laura Forney and husband Greg. The family grew to include eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service held at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Shelter Cove Church at 12 p.m. in Modesto on Friday, March 16th.
