Our beloved Gene passed away in June of 2019. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol, of 53 years. He and Carol lived in Oakdale for 35 years and were in business in Modesto for many years. They owned Gene’s Union, Curtis Union, and Curtis Towing. Gene was part of many organizations; He was a Mason, Shriner, member of the Oakdale Country Club, and a Clamper.

He is survived by his wife Carol, brother Darrel (Sandy), daughter Patti Phillips, sons Larry (Jo), Richard (Patricia), Macki, stepson Steve Shannon (Cyndi), seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We will be celebrating Gene’s life with a graveside service on September 24 at 11 a.m. at the Oakdale Citizens Cemetery. All those who remember Gene are welcome to attend.
