CHERYL STROHMEIER HUNT
Sept. 11, 1964 – April 14, 2019
Cheryl Hunt obit
Cheryl, known by many as She-Ra Princess of Power, passed after a courageous battle against cancer. She is preceded by her son, Joshua, and survived by her loving husband, Barry Hunt, who she shared 28 wonderful years of her life with. Together they raised three fur children, Cal, Ozzy and Murphy.
Cheryl is also survived by her mother Peggy and her partner Frank, older twin siblings Lori and Bob, and her triplet sisters Nancy and Carrie. She was “Auntie She-Ra” to nieces Debbie, Shannon, Ashley, Sam and Megan, and nephews Dustin, Ryan, and Justin.
Cheryl was raised in San Jose, Calif., where she lived for 30 years. She was lifelong friends with her neighborhood kids, which called themselves the “Channel Drive Gang”. Cheryl and her siblings organized annual reunions with the gang at Vasona Park.
For eight years, Cheryl was the wine and liquor manager of the Dublin Safeway. During that time, she fostered a close relationship with her fellow employees, especially her store manager, Claudette.
From her loyalty to those she loved, to her infectious laugh, Cheryl made an impact on everyone she met, and would do just about anything to put a smile on your face.
Friends and family of the Hunt’s gathered at Cheryl’s mother’s home during Memorial Day weekend to celebrate Cheryl’s life ... over margaritas.
