Ann (Ballard) Marty was born May 16, 1922 and died Monday, May 2, 2016. She was 93 years old and was a proud native Californian. Ann was born in Waterford, CA to Ross and Julia Ballard and spent her childhood there in the fresh country air among the beautiful fruit trees. She went to High School in Oakdale (c1940), where she met many lifelong friends and her husband-to-be Bud (Warne) Marty. Ann and Bud were married in 1950 and raised their three sons Jim, Bob and John in Lafayette, California where she lived for 62 years.
Her beloved husband Bud preceded her in death in 1987, as did all three of her siblings Dorothy Caldera, Jack Ballard and Bob Ballard in subsequent years. She was also predeceased by her youngest son John in 2014.
She is survived by her sons Jim and Bob, who lovingly cared for her in her final years. She is also survived by Jim’s wife Chris and her grandchildren Kelley and Brett. Ann was a devoted and loyal wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her sweet and kind nature, her thoughtfulness, her tap dancing, her love of the mountains, and her fun and laughter with the “Golden Girls.” Her family and friends will miss her forever.
