Andrea Leigh Ann ‘Rira’ Echavarria, 19, died Tuesday, Jan. 5 surrounded by family and friends after a battle with a rare form of bone cancer at Madera Children’s Hospital, Madera.

She attended schools in Jamestown, Waterford and Oakdale and graduated in 2008.

Ms. Echavarria loved photography and her favorite hobbies were scrapbooking and cooking. She also enjoyed camping by the lake with her many friends.

She is survived by her fiancé, Chad Sierra of Waterford; parents, Arnold Echavarria of Oakdale and Jamie Ross Echavarria of Tennessee; sister, Amanda Echavarria of Oakdale; brother, Michael Echavarria of Tennessee; grandparents, Arnoldo and Francisca Echavarria of Oakdale and Judy Burns of Michigan; uncles and aunts, Kevin and Lena Cupit of Waterford, and Clark and Eddie of Michigan; many cousins, great uncles, great aunts, other family and friends from California, Idaho, Michigan, Texas and Florida.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Ross of Jamestown.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at St. Anthony’s Church, Hughson with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. A reception will be held at St. Anthony’s Hall, Hughson. Visitation and rosary were held at Oakdale Chapel on Jan. 12.
