Fall fun in Valley Home! With summer coming to an end, and the beauty of fall coming to our beautiful Valley Home, let’s have some fall fun! Everyone is invited to create a fall scarecrow or two or three! Create what makes you feel good, in good taste of course. It’s time to have some fun! To add to the spirit of fun in Valley Home, our Community Scarecrow Contest will start on October 1! All entries will be judged on October 3 by outside judges. Please send your "entry address" to Winnie Mullins, text 209-985-5233 or email winniemullins51@gmail.com. All scarecrow addresses must be sent by October 1 to Winnie. Any questions please call me, Winnie at 209-985-5233. Please set up scarecrows so they can be seen from the road (they will be judged from the road). Addresses will be listed in our Valley Home News column in the Oakdale Leader on October 7. Prizes from anonymous donors will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place! Contest winners will be announced at our Community MAC meeting on October 14. Everyone is invited to attend. More details to come! Anyone who would like to donate a prize, please text me. It is going to be so much fun to enjoy some light hearted fun in these crazy times. Let’s all create something, no matter how small or how big! We will also post the addresses on the Valley Home Bulletin Board and Valley Home Parent Club page on October 7! Load up the family and take a leisurely fall drive through our beautiful Valley Home to enjoy the fun scarecrow entries. For any entry that does not want their address listed, please let me know. What great fun we are going to have! Let’s bring back the spirit of family and fun to our Valley Home Community. All entries should stay up through the month of October. We end this week’s column by reminding everybody that our area Relay For Life has luminarias available for purchase now, online at www.relayforlife.org/oakdaleriverbankca to purchase a luminaria bag to honor a friend or a family member! On September 19 at 7:00pm the luminarias will be lighted to honor those battling, or who have battled cancer. Everyone is invited to “drive through” at the United Methodist Church 1480 Poplar, Oakdale, during the evening of September 19 to witness this very special ceremony.
