A special time for family, friends, neighbors and community. This Saturday we will enjoy a very special Christmas in Valley Home! Community members have worked hours and hours to ensure a Christmas celebration with many special memories! Our Community Lighted Christmas Parade will start at 6 p.m. The best viewing area is in front of the Texas Avenue K-3rd campus. Our 2016 Grand Marshal is Ag Teacher Kristi Short. Jeff Chrisman will drive Kristi’s tractor “Pink” while pulling a beautiful peacock themed Grand Marshal float! The iridescent colors of the peacock will thrill onlookers as our Grand entry passes by. Parade entries should line up near the school gym or in front of park. Grand Marshal entry will lead the parade ... look for the “Pink” tractor and please follow behind Pink. Parade will circle the block three times, then stop at the park for a very special tree lighting. A live nativity scene will remind us all of that holy night so long ago in Bethlehem. As the cool night air surrounds us, FFA and Valley Home 4-H member Laci Blount will delight the crowd with a beautiful clarinet rendition of Silent Night. Across the street the gym will open to welcome all inside. Steaming hot coffee, toasty warm chocolate and sparkling Christmas punch will be out for all. A delicious community potluck dinner will have everyone heaping their plates high. Valley Home 4-H will cook three turkeys, three hams and provide cups, plates and silverware. Bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy this very special night among friends and family. All are welcome! Santa will make a special visit during dinner.
