Hi, I hope you are all doing well. With all this rain, it’s sure to be a beautiful spring! It will be so nice to see the pretty roadside wildflowers; some will bloom as soon as early March. With sunshine maybe even late February … or maybe I am just getting anxious for spring to come.

This past week our Valley Home MAC met in our Bonnie Gellerman gymnasium. We are forever thankful to the Cox family for the beautiful sign on the gym that honors our sweet Bonnie. We appreciate very much all those who attended our January MAC meeting. It was well attended and much community information was shared.

We were so thankful to have Jeff Serpa from our Fire Department there; Jeff shared that they had over 855 calls last year, he broke down the calls into Rescue calls, Hazardous calls and Service calls. Remember our February Fire Board monthly meeting will be held here in Valley Home. Our Community Resource Officer, Sheriff’s Deputy Bret Babbitt shared that Valley Home has been fairly quiet, he was requested to answer a community member’s questions privately, and he did so in a very professional manner, we are thankful for Deputy Bret. We are thankful for our CHP Officer, Eric Moore. Eric reported that our Modesto CHP office had three new transfers in, all officers will be going to 12 hour shifts instead of 10 hour shifts. Our Valley Home MAC will have a different CHP Officer attending our MAC meetings, CHP Officer Aires will be at our next meeting in April. Officer Moore will now be an Investigative and Training Officer. We will miss you, Officer Eric. We are also saying goodbye to our Municipal Advisory Council County Liaison, Erica Inacio. Thank you, Erica, for all your input, we will miss having you at our meetings. We are so thankful for our Stanislaus County Supervisor Buck Condit. We appreciate Supervisor Buck and County Road Supervisor Bill Martins for taking care of our roads here in Valley Home. I think of them each time I travel over where that huge wash out was on Valley Home Road and Pleasant Valley Road last winter, and several others, they are amazing. At this MAC meeting, Buck answered our questions about the storm drain going in on Gilbert Avenue by the Strawberry Stand. He also shared that our Valley Home School sidewalk project on Minnesota Avenue would be going out to bid, and could be started as early as this summer. We are excited … this sidewalk will allow our students to walk more safely between the Texas campus and the Pioneer campus at lunchtime and other times. Thank you to Jessica Caudle and Supervisor Buck for their hard work. We are excited for our Spring Clean Up Day and Community Park Yard Sale on April 27th … more information coming soon. Valley Home School Board member Jessica Caudle reported that our Valley Home School has a current enrollment of 190 students, this is exciting. Park information: There will be a Park Meeting on Thursday, January 18th at 4:30 pm at Dennis McCutcheon’s shop on Lone Tree Road.

Municipal Advisory Council Officers were elected at this meeting: Chairman Nancy Osmundson, Vice Chairman Winnie Mullins, and Secretary Amanda Beltrami. We appreciate very much all who attend these meetings, especially our first responders and our county officials who bring us so much important information. Thank you to all.
