A late morning crash along Milton Road, north of Dunton Road in the area of Highway 4, resulted in the death of a 63-year-old Patterson man.

According to the California Highway Patrol report, Maurice Allen Jr., of Patterson, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Milton Road shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9. While traveling north of Dunton Road along Milton Road, authorities said Allen steered the motorcycle to the left, allowing it to travel off the roadway in a northwesterly direction, going out of control. The motorcycle continued in this direction, traveling down a grass embankment, and crashed into a fence. Upon striking the fence, officials said Allen was ejected from the motorcycle.

Responding crews, including firefighters, paramedics and air ambulance personnel, tended to the victim and attempted to resuscitate him on scene but the CHP said Allen sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision, the CHP noted.
