The Oakdale Library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12, to honor veterans, but all that week of November, the library’s Thankful Tree will be available where patrons can write good thoughts and thankfulness on “leaf” notes and they will be placed on the tree.

Other special programs are planned this month at the library as well.

The Crafteen Book Club meets Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. Pick up a copy of “Nimona,” the book selection for this month, then join in to discuss and share while customizing a unique pencil case out of Ziplocs and duct tape.  The book and all the supplies will be provided at the library.

The November children’s craft will focus on Unicorn fun on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 3:30 p.m. as library staffers help attendees mix a potion of magical unicorn dust, make a fanciful unicorn headband, and a brilliant magical wand.

The Library Book Club will be reading “The Storyteller” and then meeting to discuss and share on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 11:30 a.m. You can sign out a copy at the Library and join in. New members are always welcome.

Also a reminder that Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms continue through November. Wiggle Worms Story Time has moved to Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., with stories, music, dancing, rhythm activities, and more for those up to age 3 with their caregivers. Preschool Story Time is now every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., designed for ages 3 to 6 and their caregivers and featuring books, flannelboard stories, music and more.
