Barn 1-11

This may look like a barn in a wet and muddy field – and it is – it just isn’t the field where the barn is supposed to be. The heavy winds that prompted a tornado warning about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 lifted this barn from one property on Lancaster Road to the one next door. Barry VanDyke said family members noticed the barn – which damaged a tree but made it safely over an oil pipe fence – when checking on potential problems from the overnight storm. He estimated it moved about 100 feet from the neighbor’s yard to his yard. There were also multiple reports of trees down on or alongside area roadways and in yards as a result of the severe weather, which also included heavy rain, some hail, lightning and thunder.
