The time has arrived.

The highly anticipated showdown will take place inside The Corral this Friday evening, Oct. 26.

Oakdale’s varsity football Mustangs (7-2, 4-1) will play host to first place Central Catholic (8-1, 5-0) in the regular season Valley Oak League finale. The Mustangs are coming off a bye week and the Raiders picked up their seventh straight win after knocking off Kimball 70-19 in Tracy this past week.

Something has to give; Oakdale is 4-0 at home but the Raiders are 3-0 on the road in 2018. The game between these VOL rivals has proven to be the gold standard of the regular season since 2014.

In 2017 Oakdale defeated Central Catholic on the road 27-21 and were crowned Valley Oak League champions.

The tale of the tape is very similar for these two powerhouse programs in 2018. The Raiders have scored 376 points and have given up 136, while Oakdale has scored 345 and surrendered 175.

Several playoff implications are at stake; however, these two teams are not looking ahead and both will be focused on the matter at hand, getting a win on Friday night.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
