With the most recent Morning Market in Oakdale falling on Saturday, July 4, there were some added activities, such as the watermelon eating contest shown here, along with a special red, white and blue-themed craft for kids, plenty of vendors, music and more. Many attendees also turned out in their best patriotic attire, kicking off the Independence Day holiday – and the nation’s 250th birthday – in style. The market runs each Saturday morning, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., along North Third Avenue between E and F streets.
