Military Appreciation Weekend with the Stockton Thunder is set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16, with doors at the arena in Stockton opening at 6:30 p.m. each night and the puck dropping at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the Thunder hockey team will be wearing a military themed jersey with a jersey auction following the Saturday game. Giveaways over the weekend will include a patriotic poster giveaway on Friday and red, white and blue Thunder caps on Saturday. Join in with the Thunder to support the armed services, with special recognition for military members and their families throughout the weekend.

Tickets for the games start at $8 for upper end zone seats to $25 for club level seating. For more information or tickets, call 209-373-1500. Event proceeds from the weekend games will benefit the Welcome Home Heroes organization.

Also this weekend, the Air Force Band of the Golden West will be honoring Gold Star families at the Gallo Center for the Arts on Sunday, Feb. 17. The event is free but tickets are limited. Donations are accepted to help cover costa. The Air Force Band concert band is part of the USAGF Band of the Golden West based at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield. The group provides musical support for official military functions and community relations programs.
