Motorcycle Accident Claims Oakdale Man
Patch

A late Saturday afternoon accident resulted in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist involved and tied up traffic for hours as police investigated the crash.

Oakdale Police reported that at 4:53 p.m. on June 21, they were dispatched to the intersection of West F Street and Reed Road for a collision between a SUV and a motorcycle. West F Street serves as State Route 108 through town.

The motorcyclist, Randall Keith Alford, 53, of Oakdale was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Modesto where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The driver of the SUV, David Bradley, 38, of Oakdale, was not injured.

Police reported that a pedestrian in the area of the collision, David Chrowl, also from Oakdale, was hit with flying debris and had to be transported to Doctors Medical Center for treatment.

On Saturday, police stated their preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the SUV violated the motorcyclist’s right of way and the motorcyclist was determined to be traveling at an unsafe speed. Both vehicles were westbound on West F Street when the collision occurred. The accident is still under investigation.

This is the second motorcycle fatality in just over a month’s time frame in the city. On May 16, 43-year-old Travis Wheeler died when his motorcycle collided with a car turning from Yosemite Avenue on to E Street.
