Knights Ferry School starts August 11 with Kindergarteners to arrive for class at 8:15 and they will go all day. T-K will arrive at 10:30 and get dismissed with the whole school at 2:40 p.m.

Ken and Linda Morris and granddaughter Rhiannon and her friend Jenny have returned from Yellowstone National Park. The girls enjoyed Shields Sporting Goods Store including the inside Ferris Wheel and the glass fish tanks to walk under. They went to Gallatin Petrified Forest, Agate Beach, Bear World, and hiked around. They saw bear and elk, shopped and completed the Junior Ranger program. The weather was sun, rain, snow on the trip. The girls looked for and found license plates from all 50 states, 5 Canadian Provinces and Mexico.

Michael and Maureen McKibban have returned from a cross-country train trip. They left Modesto, went to Stockton, bussed to Sacramento and then boarded the California Zephyr for Chicago. Maureen liked the views in Colorado, lots of scenery (not like Nebraska). In Chicago they had a layover (unintended) and were put up for the night by Amtrak. They visited the Aquarium and Maureen said there were too many people everywhere. They boarded the Lakeshore Limited to New York where they were picked up by daughter Kate and granddaughter Emma. Niagara Falls was one destination for the tourists and it was awesome. Michael drove Grahme’s car back to California with Kate’s dog Ginger and Maureen as Kate, Emma and Grahme are moving to California. The greenness of the eastern part of the U.S. and the amount of water everywhere really contrasted with the dry west!
