Scheduled at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, a riveting drama will be presented on stage, 12 Angry Jurors, directed by Patrick Norris.

This is the third of the Gallo Center Repertory Company’s four productions for the 2023-24 season.

Dates and times are: Friday, March 8 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m.

A jury must decide whether a 19-year-old man is guilty of murder. The jury votes 11-1 that the man is guilty of the crime, but laws require a unanimous vote by all 12 jurors in order to pass judgment. Tempers flare as 11 jurors try their best to convince one dissenter to come around. As the evidence is re-examined, however, uncertainties come to light, forcing everyone to question if there is in fact some measure of “reasonable doubt.” This heightened courtroom thriller will be set in the present day with a diverse cast, and is designed to put you on the edge of your seat while exploring what it means to live in a democracy. Originally written by Reginald Rose as Twelve Angry Men, Henry Fonda starred in an acclaimed feature film version.
