Stanislaus County residents now have access to free one-on-one tutoring, 24 hours per day, seven days per week through Help Now on the library website. Real-time tutoring and homework help is available in Math, Language Arts and other core K-12 subjects in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. The service is not limited by age. Adult learners can access writing assistance, citizenship resources and other tools.

“This program is a game-changer,” said County Librarian Sarah Dentan. “Until now, a private tutor has been out of reach for many students. Now the one-on-one service is available to everyone.”

Online tutoring and homework help, offered through local libraries statewide, is the first round of the California State Library’s $439 million Building Forward Library Improvement Grant program. This represents the largest investment in public library infrastructure in California history.

To access the service, use the online tutoring link at www.stanislauslibrary.org and enter your Stanislaus County Library card number. An application for a digital services library card can be completed online using the Get a Library Card link. Digital library card numbers are issued within 24 to 72 hours. Computers and free WiFi are available at all Stanislaus County Libraries. WiFi hotspots and home connectivity kits, consisting of a hotspot, laptop, and accessories, can also be checked out for three weeks at a time.
