Under sunny skies, in the crystal clear water, orange pumpkins glided across the pool during the Third Annual Floating Pumpkin Patch Event in Riverbank. Families were treated to caramel apples, potion making stations and pumpkin picking from the large selection of pumpkins that bobbed up and down in the water on Saturday, Sept. 26. The festive event was hosted by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.

Many local families came out to share in the fun and there were even some folks like Krystal Taylor, Girl Scout Troop 2324 Leader, that traveled a few miles to join in on the pumpkin picking. Taylor, who is also the Principal of Pulliam Elementary School in Stockton, wanted the girls to have an opportunity to enjoy some of the magic of the season.

“We had a few girls that were bridging and we wanted to celebrate them and have fun and introduce the girls to new things so this event seemed like a great way to do that,” said Taylor.

Parks and Recreation team members were on hand to give out treat bags and keep the music grooving along as kids swam and searched for the best and brightest pumpkins. This event offered families a chance to enjoy some time in the community pool while also taking home a pumpkin and making some very special memories along the way.
