Fire Calls 12-16-20

A collision between a semi-truck and passenger sedan at Albers and Patterson roads on Friday night, Dec. 11 saw the big rig jackknife into oncoming traffic, striking the sedan. The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 8 through Monday, Dec. 14. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, DEC. 14

3:26 a.m. – Engines 28, 29, Battalion 5 responded to a vehicle accident on Highway 108 near Lover’s Leap, just outside of east Oakdale. Crews arrived to find one vehicle over an embankment. Two occupants had self-extricated and then declined medical transport. CHP remained on scene to coordinate the removal of the vehicle.

No times listed: All stations performed weekly equipment checks and routine maintenance. Battalions 1 and 5 attended the weekly Command Staff meeting.

 

FRIDAY, DEC. 11

8:18 p.m. – Modesto Engines 28, 27 and Battalion 5 responded to a vehicle accident at Albers Road and Patterson Road. Crews arrived on scene with Oak Valley Ambulance. Accident was non-injury with involved parties refusing medical treatment or transport. CHP is investigating.

9:08 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, Engine 27, Battalion 5, Stanislaus Engine 26 and Engine 22 responded with Oak Valley Ambulance for reports of a vehicle accident with a pin in at Albers Road and Patterson Road. CHP was clearing the scene of the previous accident and witnessed the second wreck. A semi-truck and trailer appeared to have lost control and jackknifed into oncoming traffic and struck a passenger sedan. Crews extricated both the passenger and driver of the vehicle with moderate injuries. The truck driver was not injured and refused medical treatment or transport. CHP is investigating.

 

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 9

2:13 p.m. – Engine 29, Engine 28, Cal Fire Engine 4486 and BC5 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Highway 108/120 near Knights Ferry. Engine 29 arrived to find a single vehicle off the roadway and began to check for injuries. Crews provided initial patient care to one subject with minor injuries. CHP investigating.
