Valley Home Joint School District hired Rolanda Desrosiers-Lewis as the new Superintendent/Principal in an action announced at a special board meeting held Dec. 27.

Her first official day will be when Valley Home School is back in session from winter break on Jan. 3, 2012. Her most recent employment was as Director of Education for Modesto City Schools.

Desrosiers-Lewis is the first woman to serve as Valley Home’s Superintendent/Principal.

She replaces Thomas Kevin Hart who was initially placed on administrative leave due to a requirement in California education code and is involved in an ongoing legal case. Hart and the Valley Home district recently parted ways.

See the Jan. 4, 2012 issue of The Oakdale Leader for more details.
