As if made to order, the sun was out shining on close to 275 runners/walkers on Saturday for the Eighth Annual Support Oakdale Schools Fun Run. Oakdale Educational Foundation President Ted Thome reported to the group that close to $15,000 was raised due in part to event sponsors and participants.

First founded in 2010 by a group of OJUSD educators and their spouses, the event is hosted each year at Cloverland Elementary School, offering a 1-mile and 5k distance for runners. Proceeds from the event go directly to OEF, a not for profit benefitting Oakdale schools, which in turn uses the funds for teacher scholarships as well as student activities and needs.

For information on finish times as well as upcoming dates for the annual event visit www.sosfunrun.com. Medalists that missed receiving their medal at the event itself may retrieve them from Oakdale High School.
