Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 12.14.22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Dec. 6 through Monday, Dec. 12. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, DEC. 12

Crews rotated through the RFTC for training on the Record Management System and data entry.

Crews completed Monday equipment and apparatus checks.

Crews participated in a mock promotional exam for engineers.

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 11

Engine 22, 26, 21 and BC2 attended an Active Shooter Drill.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 10

MST units conducted equipment checks and station maintenance.

MST units conducted in house probationary training and conducted Active Shooter Drills at Station 17.

Crews responded to multiple calls for trees down.

Engine 26 participated in Riverbank’s Christmas Parade, Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District’s Director Greg Bernardi performed the role of Santa, assisted by his wife Cathy as Mrs. Claus.

 

FRIDAY, DEC. 9

MST units rotated through RMS training at RFTC.

Station 26 crews spent the day on Engine and Station Maintenance.

MST units conducted equipment checks, station maintenance and in house training.

 

THURSDAY, DEC. 8

Crews spent the day on engine and station maintenance.

Training was conducted at the engine company level. Ladders, large diameter hose streams and commercial firefighting tactics were concentrated on.

The fire academy conducted wildland training in Knights Ferry.

Fire Chiefs from the Modesto Fire Administrative Staff along with Engine 27 attended the Oakdale City Holiday Party at the Gene Bianchi Community Center. The City of Oakdale graciously showed their appreciation for employees and community service members.

Modesto E29 was dispatched to a hazardous materials incident at River Road and Valley Home Road for a report of a jackknifed big rig that was leaking diesel. Upon E29’s arrival the big rig had left the scene leaving behind a trail of diesel. The truck was located in San Joaquin County and stopped by authorities. Stanislaus County DER in conjunction with Caltrans mitigated the diesel spill on the shoulder of Valley Home Road.

 

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 7

Engine 27 and BC5 assisted the OHS Fire Science class.

Engine 28 assisted with the MST Firefighter Recruit Academy with training in Knights Ferry.

5:44 p.m. – Modesto E28, E27, Stanislaus E24 and BC2 responded to a vehicle accident at Oakdale Waterford Highway south of Claribel Road. E28 arrived on scene with three vehicles involved with one driver requiring extrication. Two immediate patients and one delayed patient were transported to area hospitals. California Highway Patrol is investigating.

 

TUESDAY, DEC. 6

Crews trained with probationary firefighters on skills for their next probationary assessment.

Engine 29 assisted with the MST Firefighter Recruit Academy.

Engine 28 assisted the OHS Fire Science Class.
