Community Rallies For Family

The community of Oakdale has once again rallied to support a family grieving the untimely death of a loved one.

Fundraising efforts have been put together on two fronts this week to raise funds in support of the Hazlewood family. Ben Hazlewood died on Monday, June 27 after sustaining serious injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident on 26-Mile Road. He leaves behind a wife and three children. He was 41 years of age.

A Family To Go Meal will be offered at House of Beef this Thursday, July 14. Tickets are $50 each and pickup times include 4:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.; 5 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 6 pm. The dinner which serves four includes: pulled pork and chicken combo; potato salad, chill beans, corn on the cob, garlic bread and a 2-liter bottle of soda. Additionally, a fundraiser for the family will be hosted on Sunday, July 17 at the H-B Saloon. A silent auction, as well as live auction will be featured.
