Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms continue through October; the Oakdale Library is at 151 S. First Ave.

Wiggle Worms Story Time has moved to Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy stories, music, dancing, rhythm activities, and fingerplay at this special program perfect for ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers. (25 to 30 minutes.)

Preschool Story Time is now every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Join in for books, flannelboard stories, fingerplay, and music, for preschoolers, ages 3-6, and caregivers. (30 min.)

“Crafteen” Book Club is here. Bring your favorite “scarrrry” book and join us to talk, share, and create on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. Using October themes, we will be designing “monsters” with your own personal touches, sweet or scary, it is up to you.

One of our most popular programs will be returning for two presentations on Thursday, Oct. 4. Python Ron’s Reptile Kingdom will be at the Oakdale Library at 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. for a creepy crawly good time. Don’t miss this educational hands-on show-and-tell featuring lizards, snakes, and more.

Our Computer Classes for Adults will be focused on “Basics” this month, Tuesdays, Oct. 2, 9 and 16. These classes begin at 10:30 a.m. Please call the Library for info and be sure to reserve your space. Each session is limited to four people. Call 209-847-4204.

Also, if you are an adult interested in learning or improving in Microsoft EXCEL, you will want to join our class on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. Please call the Library to sign up for this special class, limited to four people; 209-847-4204.

Our “Little Scientists” S.T.E.A.M. Program for ages from Kindergarten to eight years old, will be on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 3:30 p.m. Listen to a book then explore the world of science with special activities. This month we will combine “shapes” and “tortillas” in a tasty puzzling good time in our “science lab!” Sign-ups are required in advance, starting on Oct. 1. Our Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. Parents can help their children learn social skills and have fun at the same time.

We will celebrate “Teen Read Week” with a special Teen Craft. This year’s theme is “written in the stars … READ!” Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m., as we make “galaxy” themed painted rocks and tea light holders.

We will have two Lego Days this month on Thursday, Oct.11 and Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. Kids can unleash their awesome creativity and we will display their masterpieces in the library. Join us for building fun.

Enjoy our new monthly edition of Family Story Time. Come for a special Saturday Story Time experience on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. Books, music, finger plays and more! This is a wonderful opportunity for families who miss out on our regular weekday Story Time to share the full experience together.
