Great Valley Bookfest Scheduled This Weekend

The annual Great Valley Bookfest, with presentations by authors in Author’s Alley, books for sale, workshops and more, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Manteca.

The fest is slated at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley, also known as the Bass Pro Center, Highway 120 at the Union Road exit, 280 Lifestyle Road, Manteca. There is no admission fee for the event.

There will be both fiction and non-fiction authors in attendance and among the fiction genres to be represented are mystery/thriller, romance, and science/horror/fantasy. Young adult, children, cooking and poetry are other areas that will be featured.

Five different writing workshops are offered, starting at 10:30 a.m. and running through 3:45 p.m., each running 45 minutes. Topics are scheduled to include: Word Play, Why Critic Groups are Important, Suspense, Reading Well and Publish or Perish.

The Great Valley Bookfest is a non-profit organization, encouraging reading and literacy programs. For more information, call 209-824-3080.
