Fall String Recital Slated At Modesto Junior College

The students of Anne Martin, Director of Orchestra and Strings at Modesto Junior College, will perform solo works by Bach, Bohm, Goltermann, Marcello, Schumann, Squire, Telemann, Webster and more on Nov. 22.

All are encouraged to attend the MJC Fall String Recital, scheduled for 7 p.m. in the MJC Recital Hall on the East campus on Friday night, Nov. 22. Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted.

The program opens with the Elementary Strings Class playing the Indian Lament and Boil that Cabbage Down. The String Orchestra will present works by Bach, and Tchaikovsky. The group will also perform arrangements of a Welsh Folk Song, Ash Grove, a Traditional French carol, and the Irish fiddle tune, Drowsy Maggie. Special guest Louis Chiu will play A Bright Moon Conveys My Love Over Thousands of Miles by Yu Jung Lau on the erhu. Pianist, Dashiel Reed, will accompany the students.
