A boy, Ethan Joshua Ackenhiel was born July 20, 2009 to expectant parents Joshua Blair Ackenhiel and Nicole Mari Shoemaker. The newborn weighed four pounds, one ounce upon arrival at Doctors Hospital in Manteca.

Kenneth and Mary Boatman of Escalon and Bill and Tanya Shoemaker of Carson City, Nevada are the maternal grandparents.

Patrick and Lynette McGee of Oakdale are the paternal grandparents.
