A girl, Alexis Marie Chavez, was born November 8, 2009 to expectant parents Jamie and Amy Chavez of Oakdale. The newborn weighed eight pounds, 11 ounces upon arrival at Oak Valley Hospital.

The mother is the former Amy Borunda.

Devin Lee Abel Chavez welcomed the newcomer home.

Geary Crandell and Suzzanne Crandell of Oakdale are the maternal grandparents.

Debra Hendricks, Abel Chavez and Robert Stephen of Oakdale are paternal grandparents.
