Recent Oakdale High School graduate Thomas Wood will lace up his cleats one more time. Wood has been selected to play in the 45th annual Lions District 4A-1 All-Star Football Game on Saturday night, June 16. The game will take place at Tracy High School’s Wayne Schneider Stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff time.

Wood is the lone Mustang representative and played a key role in the OHS varsity team’s success during his time with the squad. Wood served as a right guard for the varsity team this past season and will play for the South in the all-star game. Players on the South squad represent several schools in Stanislaus and Merced counties. Head coach of the South will be Hilmar’s Frank Marques.

On the other side, the North schools include those in San Joaquin County and the Sierra foothills.

In last year’s game, former Oakdale standout Cullen Bearden recorded five sacks to help lift the South over the North.

Gates open at 6 p.m. on June 16 with pre-game ceremonies including player introductions preceding the 7 p.m. kickoff. Admission is $10.
