Water Polo Teams Fall To Turlock

Action in the home pool saw the Oakdale High School water polo teams host Turlock on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

In varsity girls action Oakdale fell to Turlock 17-8. Charlotte Liekhus scored three goals for Oakdale. Adding two goals each were Jensen Perry and Hannah Lee. Sophia Taylor scored the team’s other goal. In the net and having 16 saves was Kylie Davis. Oakdale opens up Valley Oak League play against Kimball on Wednesday, Sept. 11 with the game scheduled for 6 p.m. at the high school Aquatic Center.

Oakdale’s varsity boys fell to Turlock 13-4. Trailing 3-0 in the first quarter, Dyllon Jones scored the first goal for the host team late in the quarter. With 1:10 remaining in the opening quarter, Lorenzo Klose scored a goal from long distance to make it a 5-2 game. Oakdale would score one goal in the second quarter, a goal by Stash Perry to make it 7-3. The Mustangs went into halftime down 8-3. Oakdale’s offense continued to slide in the second half, as they only scored one second half goal. The goal came with 2:29 remaining in the game and was scored by Chandler Neal.

This week Oakdale will host Kimball in the Valley Oak League season opener on Sept. 11, scheduled for 7 p.m.
