Swimmers Continue Impressive Season

On Friday, April 5 the Oakdale High School swim team headed to Manteca to take on East Union. The two Valley Oak League teams jumped into the pool and both Oakdale programs earned lopsided victories on the road. The girls team won 120-52 and the boys swam past the Lancers 131-41.

In girl’s action Kayla Peterson, Haley Rivera, Ashlynn See and Kassidy Houck earned first place in the 200 medley relay. Peterson also placed first in the 50-yard freestyle event. Rivera earned a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle event. The foursome of See, Bethany Metcalfe, Houck and Rivera took first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. See also took first in the 100-yard backstroke event. Juliette Leibenson placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke event. Hannah Lee placed first in the 200 freestyle. Marissa Raggio took first in the 200 IM while Morgan Dietrich was first in the 100 yard butterfly. Neesa Deleon placed first in the 500 yard freestyle. See, Rivera, Houck and Peterson also took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay to help power Oakdale over East Union.

It was a big day for several Oakdale male swimmers. Ethan Perry, Aron Cameron, Stash Perry and Chandler Neal took first place in the 200-yard medley relay. The foursome also took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Neal placed first in the 200 yard IM and the 50 yard freestyle. Stash Perry took first place honors in the 200 IM and the 100 yard freestyle events. Ethan Perry placed first in the 100 yard butterfly and also won the 100 yard backstroke. Matthew Van Dyke took first place honors in the 500 yard freestyle. Aron Cameron won the 100 yard backstroke. The foursome of Evan Elizondo, Lorenzo Klose, Kyle McIntosh and David Terwilliger placed first in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
