The young Oakdale Gators swim team took their final collective plunge of the summer season when they hosted a number of teams from the area on Saturday, July 28. The following are Oakdale swimmers who placed fifth or higher in their events at the Oakdale Aquatic Center. Names are spelled as provided by the Gators coaching staff.
MALE 6 AND UNDER
Ceaton Taylor swam three events and earned second place in all of them. The six-year-old competed in the 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard backstroke and the 25 yard butterfly.
FEMALE 8 AND UNDER
Ocean Ingram placed fifth in the 25 yard backstroke. Callie Rath swam in five events and earned four top five finishes. Rath placed third in the 25 yard backstroke. She also took fourth in the 50 yard freestyle and fifth in both the 25 yard freestyle and the 25 yard butterfly events.
MALE 8 AND UNDER
Thomas Keeler had an impressive day as he placed first in both the 25 yard backstroke and the 25 yard butterfly events. Archer Sanders earned a fourth place finish in the 25 yard freestyle.
MALE 9-10
Jaxzen Pope placed fifth in the 50 yard backstroke.
MALE 11-12
Tyler Mercer placed fifth in the 50 yard backstroke.
FEMALE 13 AND OVER
Emma Frazer placed fifth in a pair of events. She placed fifth in both the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 yard breaststroke. Ellen Philips placed fifth in the 100 yard butterfly. Jordyn Pope swam four events and earned a top five in all of them. She placed second in the 100 yard backstroke and fifth in the 50 yard freestyle, 200 IM and the 200 yard freestyle. Micaiah Richison placed second in the 100 yard breaststroke, and fourth in both the 50 yard freestyle and the 200 IM. Addison Szuggar placed fourth in the 100 yard butterfly.
MALE 13 AND OVER
Jackson Hammond placed second in the 200 yard freestyle and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke. Douglas Shrader placed fourth in the 100 yard butterfly and took fifth in the 200 freestyle. Trenton Stanton placed fourth in the 100 yard backstroke and took fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke.
