Under-13 Oakdale United soccer standout Lane Trapp was at his best at the Shamrock Invitational earlier this month, netting three goals in a huge 5-2 pounding of NorCal Elite for a tournament title.
Trapp, who also scored twice in a big 4-0 drubbing of host Dublin, earns Athlete of the Week honor for his efforts.
“I have been coaching competitive soccer for 10 years and I have never seen a kid have the weekend that Lane did,” United coach Jaime Martinez said. “He had a phenomenal tournament.”
Oakdale United will kick off regular season action in District 9 on Sept. 11, with a quest to put up big showings in the Kaercher League. The team plays home games at the local T.L. Davis Sports Complex.
